Description
Medical settings play a key role in suicide prevention. The workshop’s goal is to increase the knowledge and confidence of nurses working in medical settings in identifying and supporting patients who are suicidal. The workshop provides an overview of suicide risk factors and warning signs, introduces basic risk assessment and crisis de-escalation, and explores enhancing connection with patients. Intended for nurses and those working in medical settings in Alameda County, however all are welcome.
Learning objectives:
1. Overview of patient risk through risk factors and warning signs
2. Enhancing skills for connection
3. Basic crisis de-escalation and suicide assessment
Please Note:
At this time, CEs are available for nurses only: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # CEP17897, for 1 contact hour. For those who work in Alameda County, CE certificates are free. For those who work outside of Alameda County, there is a $5 charge for CE certificates.
