The mission of our community trainings is to enhance our community’s knowledge and awareness to support our fellow community members who may be experiencing thoughts of suicide. Our Community Education Program recognizes that our community is a natural safety net. We value the power of connection and believe in equity in suicide prevention. We connect our communities by providing a space for difficult and challenging conversations about suicide, foster hope, and instill confidence that we can make a difference in our communities.
Our community trainings are routinely tailored to meet specific needs of the audience and the communities with which they are engaging with. Our Community Education Department recognizes that environmental and systemic factors have an impact on our mental health and contributes to health disparities that can increase suicide risk, impact help-seeking behaviors and access to supportive care. We believe that through the impact of connection, everyone in our community has the potential to be a helper to our fellow community members and loved ones.
