In acknowledgement of the challenges presented by telehealth, this workshop is intended to teach participants how to implement success means safety practices collaboratively with anyone in their life who is struggling with suicidal thoughts. Our goal is to expand the imaginative capacity of workshop participants to include a well-rounded repertoire of possible options for practicing collaborative means safety, including incorporating different spatial elements that can be considered as barriers to accessing intended means – examples include distance, height, time, locks, and having to pass through heavy traffic areas of the house. Our end goal is to reduce access to lethal means at times of peak crisis and save lives. This material was presented during the American Association of Suicidology Conference in April 2020.
The presentation will be conducted by Sara Hood, CSS’s Crisis Line Quality Assurance Coordinator
