Volunteering
The programs of Crisis Support Services are only possible through the work of our dedicated volunteers. By giving a few hours each week, you can make the difference between hope and despair for someone in need! Support your community by supporting CSS. Benefits of Volunteering with CSS Excellent training is offered to volunteers, including didactic training seminars and one-on-one trainer sessions. Our training program is unique and highly regarded. For those pursuing or considering a career in mental health, working with CSS is particularly beneficial. You'll learn new skills, gain experience in a specialized area of counseling and broaden your depth of knowledge. Training sessions cover a wide range of topics, representing current trends. Volunteer positions with most programs count toward licensure hours, provided that you participate in individual and group supervision sessions. Our volunteers enjoy working on a team with other caring people, supporting and learning from each other. Most importantly, volunteers can take pride in providing an essential service to the community, making a difference in other people's lives. Volunteer OpportunitiesCSS needs volunteers to provide a wide range of services in the following programs:
CSS also needs community volunteers to assist with fundraising, admin support, committee work and special events. Ask about these opportunities to commit to just a few hours as needed. Interested in Learning More? The first step is a telephone interview with our Volunteer Outreach Coordinator to identify your special interests and skills and to determine which volunteer opportunity is right for you. For more information on volunteering at Crisis Support Services, contact our Volunteer Outreach Coordinator Tina Mornard at 510-550-8240, or request additional information through our online contact form. |
