Special Projects

Description
Crisis Support Services of Alameda County has been providing culturally competent mental health services for over 40 years. Our expertise is in dealing with people in crisis and people suffering from chronic mental illness. CSS has the capacity to create and support “special projects” programming designed to meet unexpected and emergent needs in our community and across the state.

  • Our NightWatch ® program contracts afterhours crisis intervention telephone counseling services to mental health agencies that are required to provide 24/7 services. The program serves public and private agencies throughout California. Nightwatch is a fee-for-service program, that is customized to meet the individual needs of the contracting agency.

  • Stress Counseling Services are provided to those experiencing stress related to the recent economic uncertainty and job loss. Drop-in counseling, stress management workshops, staff support and other services are offered onsite at several One Stop Career (unemployment) Centers. Special services are available to meet the unique needs of employees and vendors impacted by the recent closure of the New United Motors Manufacturing Inc auto assembly plant. Support for Stress Counseling Services comes from state and federal funding streams and allocations from the Americans Recovery and Re-Investment Act, in partnership with the Alameda County Workforce Investment Board.

Structure
Individual projects are structured to meet the unique needs of the contracting agency or the project’s collaborative partners and the dynamic populations they serve.
